The third annual Two Little Monkeys fundraiser, held on November 18th, 2010 will be a night Jay and I will remember for a long, long time. We were once again completely astounded by the love and support of our friends and family, both for our daughter Allison and for all of the children benefitting from the care of Shriners Hospitals for Children. We often had to pause to collect our emotions as we looked into the crowd of such caring, generous individuals. The night was a gigantic success resulting in an $11,500 donation to the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital for Children.
Representing Shriners Hospitals, we were honored to have with us Callie Walsh and Bob Kotner from Chicago, H.I. Stroth from Lexington, Kentucky and our special guest of the night - Dr. Scott Kozin, accompanied by his wife Louise Dunn, from Philadelphia. It meant the world to Jay and I that our guests were able to meet Dr. Kozin and get a sense of what an exceptional person he is. Thank you, Dr. Kozin and Louise, for making the trip. Your dedication to helping children like Ally is beyond commendable. Speaking of Ally, she was allowed to make an hour-long appearance at the party this year. She and Art and Karen Fletcher’s children became fast friends (Eli Fletcher is also a patient of Dr. Kozin) and they entertained the crowd with their energy, enthusiasm and wicked dance moves.
We had an outstanding band, South of 80, who kept the crowd rockin’ while we cheered on the Bears to a 16-0 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Meanwhile guests bid eagerly on a multitude of Silent Auction items and shopped for new monkey shirts. It was certainly an exciting night!
Special Thanks goes out to:
John Barleycorn – Event Host
South of 80
Our Silent Auction contributors and purchasers
Ken Levine
Mike Furibondo
Carol Toth, John Toth and Laura Toth
Art and Karen Fletcher
Andy Hull and Rich Weinholtz
And again, an extra special thanks to all of our guests whose loving support not only made this event such an outrageously fun evening, but will also help to better the lives of the young patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children.
