The second annual Two Little Monkeys fundraiser at John Barleycorn was a resounding success. We had a great turnout were once again astounded as the friends of Two Little Monkeys came together to support the wonderful people at The Shriners Hospital for Children - Philadelphia. With approximately 175 people attending we were able to raise over $12,000. A gigantic Thank You goes out to everyone who participated in making our second annual fundraiser such a terrific triumph.      This year we introduced new Team Monkey shirts which were a big hit with the crowd. They are great running, workout or lounge shirts, perfect for cheering on your favorite Chicago team (or the Colts!). Check out the website and grab a few. They make really great gifts.      The Silent Auction was once again a big winner. We showcased a huge variety of items donated by our extremely generous friends, family and local businesses. Jay and I had quite a few laughs reading the bid sheets the following day…there were some epic battles going on for some of the items!      Once again the Attics provided live music – much thanks to Larry Knox and his band. John Barleycorn donated food which was setup on the adjacent patio. It was a lovely night and everyone was grateful for the open air atmosphere.      A very special thanks goes out to the Shriners Hospital team of Dr. Scott Kozin, his wife Louise, Terry Diamond, Maureen Fulcher, Linda Fillipone, Sarah Ashworth and Danielle Dunn who all made the trip from Philadelphia. It was no small feat for these folks for make the trip to Chicago; we were honored and blessed to have them join us.      Finally, Jay and I just wanted to say thanks to some of the team that helped us put the whole night together including: Tony Correa and Bill King – Without Bill we would have no monkeys, without Tony these events would be really boring…he has the eye and the talent to make all of our wonderful images and signage work Mike Furibondo – Creating and maintaining our awesome website Andy Hull and Rich Weinholtz – Setup and color commentary Mark Knox and Ellen Mickes – Silent Auction Coordinators…Bid Early, Bid Often! Laura Toth and Joe Piko – Selling shirts like hotcakes John and Carol Toth – All around help with ideas and execution…they also happen to be Ally’s grandparents and we love them dearly.
